On April 4, 2013, at the invitation of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Turkey M.Simsek the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine I.Prasolov visited Istanbul to participate in the Turkish-Arab Economic Forum (TAF), which was held under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Turkey R.T.Erdogan.
During the Forum I.Prasolov delivered a speech in which he outlined the progress of economic reforms in Ukraine and invited participants to take part in the Ukrainian-Arab Economic Forum, planned for October 3-4, 2013 in Kyiv.
Also I.Prasolov held meetings with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey A.Babacan, Governor of the Central Bank of Turkey E.Basci and the Minister of Finance of Turkey M.Simsek.
During the meetings, the Ukrainian side emphasized the necessity to identify the dates of the next session of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Turkish Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation, availability of Turkey’s participation in "Viking" project and reasonability of participation of Ukrainian companies in the development of railway infrastructure and aviation industries of Turkey.
In turn, the Turkish side underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation in energy, transport and it’s hope for promptly signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey.
Also, I.Prasolov had short discussion with representatives of the governments of Egypt, Kuwait and Qatar, during which outlined the current state of Ukraine's economy and perspectives for future expansion of Arab countries to market of our country.
