On June 28, in the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Turkey OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara held a tête-à-tête meeting with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoğlu.
Besides, the two Ministers co-chaired the second meeting of the joint Strategic Planning Group in Ankara. Participants of the meeting discussed all the range of issues of the Ukrainian-Turkish strategic partnership, namely prospects of cooperation development in such spheres as political dialogue, enhancement of the legal basis of the bilateral relations, trade and economic relationship, cooperation in the fields of defense, energy, transport and consular relations as well as interaction in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Special attention was paid to the preparation of the next meeting of the High Level Strategic Council under the co-chairmanship of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
In this regard the Sides agreed to prepare for signing the Action Plan of Bilateral Cooperation for 2014-2015 as well as a number of other Ukrainian-Turkish documents.
In addition, the Sides are planning to hold next meetings of several other joint institutional mechanisms, which are to prepare the agenda of the Strategic Council’s meeting.
