On September 5 in Newport (Wales), Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held a number of meetings with the heads of NATO member states aimed to further bilateral cooperation.
In particular, the head of the Ukrainian state met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The President of the TurkishRepublic emphasized the strategic nature of the cooperation between the two countries and confirmed his support of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as the peace plan of the Ukrainian President.
When discussing the situation in the AutonomousRepublic of the Crimea, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called the fact that Leader of the Crimean-Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev is denied entry to his Motherland unacceptable.
The Ukrainian and Turkish Presidents agreed to hold a meeting of the bilateral Strategic Partnership Council in the nearest future.
