Situation in the East of Ukraine remains very tense. Ukrainian forces are being continuously shelled by Russia-backed terrorists, intensiveness of fighting and number of causalities increase day by day.
More alarming are facts that Russia continues to increase its military presence in the occupied districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. According to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine additional militants' formations, subversive groups and military weapon (tanks, howitzers and radars) are being shifted to Ukraine from Russia.
Moreover, representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine have recorded significant increase of the number of armament and troops on the territories controlled by terrorist organization“Donetsk People’s Republic”. In particular on November 8, 2014 the OSCE monitors observed a convoy consisting of more than 40 trucks, part of them carrying heavy equipment (122mm howitzers), nearby Makiyivka. OSCE representatives also noticed soldiers wearing unmarked dark-green uniform in the convoy. In Donetsk observers noticed a tank column – four T-72 tanks and five T-64 tanks (http://www.osce.org/ukraine-smm/126483).
OSCE Chairman-in-Office Didier Burkhalter expressed serious concerns in connection with the reports regarding movement of military convoys on the territories controlled by illegal armed formations and a resurgence of violence in the eastern regions of Ukraine (http://www.osce.org/cio/126484).
These facts prove that Russia once again demonstrated unwillingness to implement the Minsk arrangements and continues to escalate situation in Donbas by sending troops and military equipment.
The Ukrainian side appeals to the international community to put all necessary efforts to stop bloodshed and to prevent further Russian aggression against Ukraine.
