On 1 December, 2014, at the same day of the visit of Russian President Putin to Turkey, a protest demonstration against Russian aggressive policy and in support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine was held on the «Kizilay» central square of Ankara.
The demonstration had been initiated by the GeneralCenter of the Crimean Tatar Diaspora in Turkey and authorized by local authority of Ankara. National flags of Turkey, Ukraine and Crimean Tatars were demonstrated during the event.
One of the main slogans of protesters was «Putin take your hands off Crimea». Nearly 300 citizens of Turkey, Ukraine and another countries arrived to Ankara to express their protest against violation of international law and sovereignty of Ukraine by Russia as well as to express solidarity with Crimean Tatars, who appeared to be under occupation in their own historical motherland. The document calls for the Government of the Republic of Turkey to start imposing sanctions against the country-aggressor.
