December 11, 2014 in the framework of celebration of the World’s Human Rights Day Ambassador of Ukraine Sergiy Korsunskyi visited the city of Eskishehir - one of the largest regions in the world of compact settlement of the Crimean Tatar diaspora.
The Ambassador of Ukraine met with the Rector of the Anadolu University Naci Gündoğan, during the meeting he discussed the areas of cooperation between the University as one of the largest in Turkey universities and the Ukrainian side. Volodymyr Pidvoynyi, Head of the Turkish Philology Department of the Institute of Philology, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, also took part in the meeting.
Sergiy Korsunskyi delivered the speech to the lecturers and students of the Anadolu University and the representatives of the Crimean Tatar diaspora on the theme - "Crimea under the Russian occupation - the issue of protecting the rights of the Crimean Tatars and prospects of development of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Turkey."
Sergiy Korsunskyi visited the Office of the Association of Culture and Mutual Aid of the Crimean Tatars in Eskishehir. The leaders of the diaspora headed by Chairman of the Crimean Tatars community of Eskishehir E.Olçay expressed full support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and stressed their decisiveness to take common measures with the Ukrainian side in order to protect the rights and interests of the Crimean Tatar people.
