During the meeting of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov with Secretary General of the National Security Council of the Republic of Turkey Seyfullah Hacimuftuoglu the Sides discussed the Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation in the sphere security and defense taking into account the challenges Ukraine and Turkey are facing now.
The interlocutors also touched the issues of combating international terrorism and resisting the states supporting it, countering international organized crimes and illegal migration as well as the coordination of the law enforcement bodies activities.
According to Oleksandr Turchynov stressed the need to unite the political-diplomatic, military-technical and economic resources for the effective and coordinated countermeasures against the destruction of the balance of forces in the Black Sea region. The fundamental step in this direction is the demilitarization and de-occupation of Crimea.
Secretary General of the NSC of Turkey stated, "our states must play the major role in the formation of the effective system of collective security". "It is important for us to join the potentials of our countries, which, in its turn, can create a very effective synergy".
