During his working visit to the Republic of Turkey, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov met with Head of the Secretariat for Defense Industries of Turkey Іsmail Demir in Ankara.
The Sides discussed the issue of intensification of military-technical cooperation between our countries. While considering the prospects for joint projects in the defense industry complex, the interlocutors agreed that "uniting resources in work, one can achieve far more together than separately".
Іsmail Demir emphasized that the Turkish side highly appreciates the Ukrainian developments in rocket production, aircraft engineering and tank construction. "This series can be continued for a long while, at the same time, the Turkish defense industry has significant exploratory studies and technologies, which in combination with the Ukrainian ones can give a completely new quality", - he noted.
The Sides discussed the possibility of creation of joint enterprises, as well as of the Ukrainian-Turkish research center for the study and analysis of the use of advanced military and technological developments in the conditions of modern military conflicts. During the negotiations, it was agreed to establish a joint working group to coordinate the work on joint projects, which will consist of the representatives of defense industries.
According to Oleksandr Turchynov, Ukraine and Turkey are "at the forefront of the threats the civilized world faces". "Geopolitical challenges our countries face is the unifying factor for us and leaves no alternatives to our victory", - he concluded.
Moreover, the NSDC Secretary held meetings with the heads of leading defense industry enterprises of Turkey, during which the questions of implementation of joint projects were discussed, and visited defense enterprises "Aselsan" and "Roketsan".
