"We are grateful to Turkey for its firm and consistent position in support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity that were grossly violated by Russia. It is very important for Ukraine and its people to feel sincere and effective support of true friends and partners," the President said at the joint press conference with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The Head of State noted that the parties had discussed the whole range of bilateral issues, analyzed the fulfillment of previously reached agreements and coordinated future actions.
Petro Poroshenko emphasized that the whole text of the Joint Declaration following the fifth session of the Ukraine-Turkey High Level Strategic Council "provides for the enhancement of strategic alliance between Ukraine and Turkey".
"I am confident that efficient and active development of Ukraine-Turkey cooperation, our strategic partnership will promote changes for the better in the entire region," Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
According to the President, several other countries may join Ukrainian-Turkish cooperation soon.
Petro Poroshenko emphasized that the economic issue had been an important component of negotiations: "We have agreed to intensify negotiations on the conclusion of the Free Trade Area Agreement, as well as several other bilateral agreements including the Agreement on the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Agreement on Mutual Protection of Investments".
The President offered the Turkish side to take part in the process of privatization in Ukraine.
"Ukraine and Turkey will also expand cooperation in the sphere of international combined, container traffic," the Head of State added.
According to him, Ukraine and Turkey agreed to broaden participation in bilateral and multilateral projects in energy sphere, as well as expand cooperation in tourist sphere, inter alia, in the issue of making the visit to Turkish resorts cheaper for Ukrainians.
Petro Poroshenko thanked Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the assistance to Ukraine in these turbulent times.
The Head of State noted that Turkey would provide five mobile hospitals to Ukraine shortly.
The President of Turkey said that his country fully supported the reforms of Ukraine implemented by Petro Poroshenko.
According to him, "political stability in Ukraine is a guarantee of security and stability in the Black Sea region" and Turkey will do everything possible to support this process. President Erdoğan informed that his country would fulfill its promise to allocate USD 10 million for humanitarian needs of Ukraine and urged the international community to increase support for Ukraine.
