President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a phone conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Head of State congratulated Turkish people on the coming 93rd anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.
President Poroshenko informed the Turkish leader on increasing the term of visa-free stay in Ukraine for Turkish citizens from 60 to 90 days during the 180 day period. The Turkish government has approved the same decision regarding Ukrainian citizens earlier. Petro Poroshenko called it an important step in the development of interpersonal and economic relations between the two countries.
The parties condemned human rights violation in Crimea occupied by Russia. President Erdoğan reiterated non-recognition of the results of Russian parliamentary elections on the occupied peninsula.
The interlocutors agreed to intensify negotiations on the free trade area and discussed the agenda of future contacts at the highest level.
