On March 5-7, 2012the secondround of negotiations on the conclusion of Intergovernmental Agreement on Free Trade between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey was held in Ankara. The delegation of Ukraine was headed by the Government Commissioner for European Integration V.T.Pyatnytskyy.TheTurkish Side was headed by the Deputy Economy Minister C.Damlacı. The meeting was held according to the agreements reached in the framework of the first round of negotiations held in Kiev on December 6-7, 2011.
The negotiations were marked by the willingness of the both Sides for the active work towards the preparation of the text of the Agreement on Free Trade between Ukraine and the Republic of Turkey in compliance with standards and criteria of the WTO. The negotiation process at the same time benefited from the agreements reached during the recent official visit of the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych to Turkey.
The Sides discussed in details the current state and perspectives of cooperation in trade in goods and services, the parameters of economic competition and exchanged mutual tariff proposals.
In the framework of negotiations, the Sides agreed on the text of the Agreement and signed the relevant Protocol.
